How To Maintain Flender Reducers,Flender Gearbox,Flender Gear Units?

It is very important to choose a good reducer, but if you want to “long time” with the reducer and make it run stably, it is more important to maintain the reducer properly!

1. Check whether the anchor bolts of the reducer are loose, and re-tighten them in place according to the tightening torque value according to the size and strength of the bolts.
Fastening requirements:
Bolt strength grade is not less than 8.8
Tighten according to the specified torque
Install lock nut
Adjusting bolt top wire

2. Check the lubricating oil in the reducer and take samples for testing. If the oil has deteriorated, it needs to be replaced in time.
Lubricant replacement steps:
(1) Stop the machine and wait for the temperature of the lubricating oil to drop, then release all the deteriorating lubricating oil through the drain port, and ensure that it does not pollute the environment
(2) Add the required new lubricating oil to a suitable oil level. Pay attention to the brand of lubricating oil to be consistent with the previously added lubricating oil brand.

3.Check the vent plug of the reducer. If the filter is dirty or clogged, clean it with gasoline or kerosene and reinstall it.

4.Check the alignment of the input and output shaft couplings of the reducer. If the maximum misalignment permission of this type of coupling has been exceeded, adjust it to within the normal range; if the damping washer in the coupling is damaged, promptly replace.

5. For the reducer with oil station, the oil station filter can be taken out and checked whether it is clean. If it is contaminated, it can be cleaned as follows:
Cleaning medium: kerosene or gasoline. (Open flames are strictly prohibited in the cleaning environment)
Cleaning process: stop, release the pressure, prepare the oil tank, take out the filter element from the top of the filter and put it in the oil tank to soak, remove the debris on the filter screen, dry the cleaned filter element and reload it into the filter to clear the alarm standard.

6. For reducers with cooling coils, check whether the cooling coils are scaled or not. If there is a problem that the coils are blocked and affect the flow of cooling water, you can clean them as follows:
Coil cleaning should adopt cyclic pickling method. Coil material: CuNi10Fe1Mn (nickel-based copper alloy)
Available cleaning solution formula:

7.For the reducer whose output shaft is hollow shaft connected with a shrink disk, check whether the bolts of the shrink disk are loose and whether the inner and outer jackets are flush. If they are loose, they need to be tightened one by one. Loop until the inner jacket is about the same level.

8.For the input and output shaft oil seals, backstops, overrunning clutches, bearings and other wearing parts, if the service life has reached the end of the life or the inspection finds a problem, you can use the overhaul opportunity to arrange replacement.

9. For the key components such as the pinion gear of the standard FZG reducer, you can take advantage of the opportunity to stop for maintenance, open the upper cover, release a part of the oil, and check the gear surface wear of the reducer, if there is ash peeling or even fracture as mentioned below , You can ask Flender to deal with it.
